Neil Peart to be featured on Letterman June 9th

David Letterman has declared the week of June 6th 2011 as "Drum Solo Week". Each night, his show is featuring a different drummer performing a solo. Guests include the Late Show's own Anton Fig, Sheila E, and Roy Haines.

The finale spot on the night of Thursday, June 9th goes to the one and only Neil Peart- who is considered by many (ok, most) people to be the greatest rock drummer of all time.
Neil Peart has figuratively and literally written the book on Drum Solos with his DVD titled "Anatomy of a Drum Solo" and produced and performed on the tribute album for legendary drummer Buddy Rich titled "Burning for Buddy." His work with Rush spans the overt progressive rock of the 1970s, the more technical style of the 80s, the more straightforward rock of the 90s, and the looser, big band jazz influence he learned under the so-called "Yoda of Drumming" Freddie Gruber in the late 90s.
